Although these days they may spend less time, if any at all, staring at physical designs in favor of CAD work, that doesn't eliminate the need for a desk lamp. The beloved classic is the LuxoL-1 Task Lamp— the design which inspired the Pixar mascot.

But there are improvements and more creative projects out there, so I asked fourteen architects in six foreign cities to tell us which desk lamps they are using, and why.
